it's a rainy day in la la land. I'm off to the bust craftacular tomorrow and I hope the rain doesn't keep the craft loving folks away. but tomorrow I am happy to say that a group show that I'm in also opens.  It's the DONA show at espai cromatic gallery in spain. I wish  I could go to the show. I sent one of my bird girls to hangout with all the other women inspired artwork from artists around the world.

it's time for the Bust Holiday Craftacular in Los Angeles.  I'll be here and I hope you will too. and while you're there you can donate to the LA Regional Food Bank. Just bring a canned and non-pershable food and drop it in their bin by the entrance. Come support handmade!

On August 7th, Red Thread Studio, a local studio/craft space in Virginia was engulfed in flames. "Save the Thread" is dedicated to revitalizing the space and helping owner Angelia back on her feet.  The goal is to raise $3000 to help Angelia rebuild her studio. It's so important to do what we can to help each other.  There are a few donation tiers, offering free handmade goods from some of my favorite artists for any $5+ donation they receive.  Just think something cool for $5 and helping support the handmade community. You can't beat that. So go there NOW. and spread the word.

i can't believe it's that time of year already. and i have every intention to start shopping early... meaning before thanksgiving.  this is the special christmas edition of the we are series. these are great little coloring books and are not just for little ones. you can purchase one here at yael fran's super cute shop. this little cute book is filled with great illustrations. i am happy to have been included.

there is such a special place in my heart for kid art. i find it always so inspiring. this drawing is by my four year old niece. she claims that it isn't me... although she kept looking at me while she was drawing it.  she said it's not me because i don't only have two teeth.  i love that she has a pine cone in one hand.

I'm a letterpress

i am so excited to announce that my very first letterpress print is available from the truly awesome folks at bespoke letterpress. this is a limited edition print and part of their bespoke illustrators project.  there are so many great prints to choose from. i love letterpress!  you can read more about this project here. bespoke is having a contest where you can win all the prints in the illustrators project range. yes, i said all of them. 10 lovely letterpress prints. the contest ends at midnight on october 15th. so hurry over there. i'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

oh dear, i never did get around to my renegade los angeles recap. good intentions. here are some new little drawings.

thanks renegade for coming to our town. renegade was great! there was so much i wanted to take home with me. i want to do a recap of my favorites from the show but i've been busy painting for an upcoming show. i'll try to put one together.

the last week for drawing for a cure

it's the last week for my "drawing for a cure" fundraising campaign to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. i am going to keep drawing to raise as much as i can. i can't thank everyone enough for all the amazing support!

i'm still drawing for a cure. my fundraising campaign ends next week. it's been awesome! i'm really grateful to everyone who blogged or purchased a drawing.

i should be fired from blogging. really, can i fire myself? probably. i've been drawing and drawing to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society... but this weekend i'll be at the patchwork show. yay! come and say "hey" if you can.

A friend's father recently and suddenly lost his life to Acute Moncytic Leukemia. She has made a promise to herself to do whatever she can to help raise funds for research for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I am joining in her fundraising with a section in the shop called DRAWING FOR A CURE. Each original art in this section is $15 with $10 of each sale going directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This fundraising campaign will end on june 1.
No one should ever feel this heartache.
